Yet in the desert
as they roamed
before they reached
their destined home
they gathered
manna from above
sure token
of the Father’s love –
a daily gift
for daily need,
no surplus given
for human greed!
These days
we don’t rely
but seek
a week’s supply –
or more,
just to be sure!
Yet Father,
still we need
your daily gift
for daily need,
and need to hear
the anguished call
of those who have
no bread at all!
Our daily bread
you give each day
for us to share
and give away!
