Come and gone two thousand years
of faith and unbelief,
of selfish greed bent just on gain
and human lives beneath the strain
of human might and grief.
To needy souls it strongly tells
God's healing love and peace.
But those of self-sufficient might
must bow before the one true Light
and all their hatred cease.
