Background: Yad Vashem ("a memorial and a name", Isaiah 56.5) is a memorial to the events of the Holocaust. It records the tragic events of persecution, flight and death camps which precipitated the formation of the modern State of Israel. 1.5 million children died in the death camps. Photography is prohibited in the Children's Memorial. It consists of a whole series of displays and is still being extended.
