we are too clever
to need
the light of God.
Stay away
from the light!
Get used
to blackness
and nothingness!
Now it’s dark
down here,
and folk
are afraid.
It can’t be dark
when the light
is switched on!
And God has given
his Word
to light our path -
has sent his Son
to light the world,
has called his people
to switch on the light!
Don’t sit in the dark!
