Amazing God!

Amazing God -
amazing grace
that bore my load,
and took my place
on earthly hill
and human cross
to bear the fill
of human loss!
And have I thought myself deprived and, having less
received, unable then to reach beyond myself and bless
another’s need who also isn’t past the reach divine?
Amazing God whose loving reach outreaches mine,
you took my blame,
my load of guilt,
and bore the pain
so deeply built
in human life!
And as you died
’mid hateful strife,
"Forgive!", you cried.
Amazing God -
amazing grace
that bore my load,
and took my place
on earthly hill
and human cross
to bear the fill
of human loss!
Then come, my loving Lord!
I trust your saving word -
you came to mend each broken heart
and call me now to be a part
with you, by grace, to bring the lost
amazing news you purchased at such cost!
